Everything Happens For A Reason

Reason is the Main Cause for Everything that Happens!

Reason

What's the Reason?

Reason is basically an ability and power of our mind that makes us curious, critical, and creative to know about anything that has already happened or will take place in future. Reason also causes us to think that who we (human beings) are? Why we are created? What will happen next and why it will happen? Reason also makes us think that why everything around us (nature) has been created? Is it for us? Do we really need to know about it? How should we know about it? Whether we have any authentic sources to know everything around us or not? Reason in general sense helps us in making judgements, taking decisions,  start acting, and reflecting over the actions that have already been taken place.

Types of Resaon

When we analyse the above mentioned explanation regarding reason including certain questions, we come to know that there are three main types of reason. Intrinsic reason, extrinsic reason, and natural reason. For instance, why a person becomes vegetarian and doesn't eat meat although meat is very much important for our muscles and healthy body.

Does a vegetarian has different teeth than a non-vegetarian? Is a vegetarian morally motivated? Does vegetarian has any medical problems? Does he not like animals and birds to be slaughtered and eaten? All these questions cover a range of reasons which can be intrinsic, extrinsic, and natural.

Intrinsic Reason (Intrinsic Motivation): This particular type of reason sets our emotions, feelings, behaviour, attitude, motivation, approach, and life priorities.

Our brain continuously compare and contrast the information that we receive, raise some questions, and demands us to answer those questions.

Obviously, we tend to provide more information back to brain for self reflection which we observe through our actions and expressions.

Extrinsic Reason: In our physical world, we regularly perform certain actions, interact with people, experience new things, and try to make the most of it in order to get satisfaction and comfort. However, whatever we do or experience in our physical world, there is always a reason behind that.

Natural Reason: We pay less attention towards natural reason as compared to intrinsic and extrinsic reasons due to preconceived knowledge. We hardly think about nature and even try to understand reason behind the creation of entire universe. Most often we believe that nature is something that is beyond the limits of our understanding and hence we consider nature as a blessing and a miracle. Similarly, whatever we hear or read about nature, we immediately start believing without knowing the reason behind it.

Medical Science & Reason

Well, the medical science stands in between the different types of reasons. Let me explain you how. Medical science has been desperately trying hard to successfully cure different deadly diseases including cancer, heart attack, diabetes, high blood pressure, AIDS, and Tuberculosis.

Medical science has also been trying to know the certain reasons behind all these deadly diseases including fixing them. But the problem is this that instead of reducing the number of patients is increasing and falling into different deadly diseases at a very rapid pace.

So the common question that arises here is that whether medical science will be able to stop these deadly diseases or not? Will humans stop dying and will medical science be able to save human lives from dying?

Why medical science is unable to accept the reality that man is mortal? What's the reason behind medical science which focuses to develop more advanced and expensive drugs instead of understanding the nature and its impacts on human beings? Why do we spend billions of dollars on curing instead of preserving nature and changing our lifestyle? Why in the name of advancement we are destroying the natural beauty of our planet?

Well there is definitely a reason behind all these key questions which I have raised here. I would like you to reflect yourself rather reading the answers here.

General Science & Reason

On the other hand, general science doesn't believe in reason as it has its own rules. General ccience mainly believes in rationale, probability, prediction, data, formulas, and logic. General science also doesn't explain to us that why sometimes life is so beautiful and why it is so hard and harsh to us.

Similarly, general science does talk about the creation of the universe but it doesn't believe in its creator. In fact, general science claims that this entire universe has been created incidentally and without reason.

Reason & Philosophy

If we talk about Philosophy, it also doesn't give us any proper or satisfactory answer about the reason behind everything that happens. Philosophy just tells us that some powerful and resourceful individuals have been controlling the world since ages. These powerful individuals have been deciding everything whether right or wrong and hence setting the future directions for human societies. Unlike science, philosophy revolves around imagination, certain discourses, ideologies, myths, and self interpretation. Philosophy doesn't mention that there are certain secret and non-visible powers that are controlling the nature and its very existence.

Reason & Economics

When we think about economics science, we come to know that money is power and everything we should strive for in order to live a luxurious life. Unlike science and philosophy, economics revolves around profit and loss. It talks about resources, economic opportunities, socioeconomic demands and meetups. Economics science sets our so called life standards, luxurious class priorities, real estate demands, and fashion.

As a result, we observe everything around us and even at times,  interact with eachother through the lens of profit and loss. Thus, economics science fails to explain that why there are unlimited natural resources and opportunities? Why there is still poverty, hunger, and lack of access to basic human rights to half of the world population? Why we need to work harder and smarter throughout our lives just to earn more money and accumulate unlimited wealth? Why all the billionaires of the world can't even spend even one fourth (1/4) of their accumulated wealth even after enjoying every luxury of life? What's the value of our accumulated wealth after our death?

Reason & Religious Theology

Although both science and philosophy oppose religious theology, yet majority of the population still believes in different religious theologies. Whereas, economics science also disagrees with religious theology and considers it as a big risk and hurdle. Atheists have no any religion and they believe that universe came into existence by itself and without any reason. Liberals consider religion as a big threat to freedom and and free will of human societies.

All the religions have certain beliefs and values which set the basic principles. These principles organise communities including ensuring social cohesion and justice. It is true that religion has some strict and rigid rules including certain limitations and obligations. The justification for these absolute and rigid rules is that absolute freedom leads towards social chaos and destruction.

Conclusion

In conclusion, there are certain reasons which are fixed and static. For example reason behind creating this universe, sending humans on earth to strive for life. Similarly critical thinking and creativity skills are only found in human beings and no any other species. Whereas, some reasons including intrinsic and extrinsic and not fixed and static. This means that these reasons can be beneficial for us. However, they can also be harmful and destructive. Therefore, we need to be very careful including building our values, norms, emotions, and certain discourses, otherwise we may have fatal consequences.

INTRODUCTION TO QUANTITATIVE REASONING COURSE

☀️Introduction to Quantitative Reasoning Course  for B.Ed/BS/BCS/MS/M.Phil Level Students Quantitative Reasoning (QR) also known as quantitative literacy or numeracy, is an ability and an academic skill to use mathematical concepts and procedures.  The literal meaning of the word " Quantitative " is " the discrete or continuous data that is often counted or measured in numerical values ." Whereas, the literal meaning of the word " Reasoning " is " the rational and logical thinking ." QR is a " Habit of Mind " which often involves interpretation of empirical and numerical data, identification of patterns, flow charts, geometrical shapes, and diagrams for identifying real life problems including offering viable solutions.  QR requires logical reasoning and critical thinking to analyse the real life issues and making informed decisions. Undergraduate level learners often require to have some basic knowledge about statistics numeracy, quant...

Numeracy and Measurement: Dimensional analysis, unit conversions, and approximation

Numeracy and Measurement in Quantitative Reasoning - I In the context of the  Quantitative Reasoning (QR) course, numeracy and measurement are treated as the " literacy of numbers ."  It is less about high-level abstract Maths and more about the practical application of logic to real-world data, quantitative research and daily life. In the context of Quantitative Research in Education , these concepts move from simple arithmetic values to the rigorous architecture of a study. They ensure that the data you collect, whether it's test scores, classroom time, or pedagogical approaches, is valid, comparable, and logically sound. 1. Numeracy: The Foundation of Data Interpretation In educational research, numeracy is the ability to interpret numerical data to make " data-driven decisions ." It involves moving beyond the simple calculation to the inference . Standardised Benchmarks: A researcher must understand that a "60 marks" on a job-level written test ...

Important SPSS Tests, Procedures and Purposes

Important SPSS Tests, Procedures & Purposes: A Quantitative Reasoning Course Perspective for Undergraduate Students  SPSS provides a wide range of statistical tests for quantitative research and analysis. It is a popular software used to explore and interpret quantitative data. Many different tests are available, but some of the most common are listed below.  New researchers should familiarise themselves with these important tests before starting their research and analysing results from a quantitative perspective.  While choosing a statistical test in SPSS, consider the number of variables you are analysing, the type of data for each variable (such as Nominal, Ordinal, or Scale ), and whether your data meets the requirements of parametric tests. The following table summarises some common tests in SPSS to help you select the right one for your analysis. Let's now look into these key SPSS tests .
