The Enigma of Human Nature: A History of Self-Inflicted Chaos and Complexity

The Enigma of Human Nature: A History of Self-Inflicted Chaos and Complexity

The Enigma of Human Nature

Introduction

Human is such a complex and mysterious creature that no one can understand his nature enigma. Human's enigmatic intentions, planning, ideas, purposes, motives, and objectives are so surprising that no one can imagine that what he or she will do the next. If we look back and go through the past history of human, we find that human himself has been destroying and creating unlimited problems, misery, hatred, chaos, oppression, killing, destruction of nature, inappropriate distribution of resources, discrimination, double standards, deception, humiliation, as well as guilt.

Background

If you compare human nature with that of other species found on the planet earth particularly wild animals, you will find a huge difference. Animals of the same species like elephants, zebras, wild beasts, deer, and giraffe mostly live together, eat together, share their food and shelter. They even mourn together on the death of their species. Similarly, they share territory and never occupy their territories. Similarly, domestic animals including buffaloes, cows, goats, sheep, and hen live peacefully as a community including sharing their food and space.

On the other hand, when we observe different species of birds, we experience the same unity, peace, harmony, and support like we do experience in animals. Birds fly together in flocks in search of food, share their food, and live peacefully.

They never occupy eath-other's nests illegally neither fight and kill eachother. In order to survive and save themselves from extreme weather conditions, birds of the same species even migrate together in flocks and after spending some time, they come back together to their actual place of living when the weather becomes normal.

While observing marine life, we see that thousands of different species of fish live and swim together. Fish of the same species shoal together and in some cases defend jointly against their enemies. Similarly, frogs, turtles and crocodiles live in a long family. You might have seen penguins living on Antarctic coasts and sub-Antarctic islands in Newzealand. They also live jointly in huge numbers, share space, and prey together.

What I am trying to say is that animals, birds, and marine life exhibit remarkable unity and harmony within their respective species.  This unity contrasts sharply with human behaviour, highlighting the peaceful and cooperative nature of other species.

Enigma of Human Nature

By nature, human is greedy, impatient, deceiver, liar, selfish, ignorant, proud, weak, careless, heedless, self-centered and inappreciative. Being a species, human divided himself and created classes on the basis of wealth and riches, caste and creed, ethnicity, religion, region, culture, language, identity, social norms, as well as customs and traditions.

History witnesses that human created boundaries and barriers on the basis of nationality and thus divided himself into different groups, regions, countries, and even continents. With the passage of time human advanced and discovered scientific knowledge. But this advancement was not to help eachother rather take advantage over the others.

However, things didn't stop here. Human started to invade his fellow beings including killing them, oppressing, and plundering their resources. Similarly, he discovered economic laws for slavery including snatching food, shelter, and right to living peacefully. The greed of power injected hatred, monopoly, discrimination, restlessness into human society. As a result, human started destroying nature including planet earth on which he is living thousands of years ago.

This destruction still continues even after severe consequences in terms of earthquakes, heavy rains, droughts, pollution, hunger, dehydration, malnutrition, and climate change issues. Today millions of people are living homeless and miserable life. Similarly, they are striving hard to have access to food, water, and other basic necessities of life.

Here I want to make my point that the path humanity has taken highlights a dire need for reflection and change to address these self-inflicted crises. Additionally, we need to think that why human is himself oppressor and oppressed? Why human himself is the victim of human injustice and resist against himself including sacrificing his life?

History of Self-Inflicted Chaos and Complexity of Human Society

Today's human society of 21st century is frustrated and surrounded by unlimited issues. It has gone far away from the nature and instinct due to self-inflicted chaos. As a result of all this, at the moment we are standing at a point of no return. United Nations Organisation (UNO) is its living example which has completely been failed in achieving its objectives. It talks about equality, equity, justice, fraternity, and peace but ground realities are absolutely opposite to it.

Millions of people have been killed and severely injured in the past 30 years under the umbrella of UNO. This clearly indicates that might is right. UNO is helpless and powerless to bring peace, harmony, sustainability, and justice in human society. Like UNO, rest of the other world organisations including European Union, OIC, BRICS, NATO and Amnesty international have also been miserably failed.

On the other hand, advancements in the field of science, technology, and industrialisation, instead of making human life safe, secure, comfortable, and peaceful; have put human society into a very dangerous situation. As a nature is very hard and reactive due to human actions. Therefore, we need to think and rationalise that weather education has helped us to be united or create more gaps among human society. We also need to ponder that why human society is so trapped into self-inflicted chaos that it has become vulnerable and shameful. Today we are living a worse and divided life as compared to other species including animals, birds, and marine life. This is indeed a very worried situation for human society.

On the other hand, this stark contrast to the harmonious existence of other species prompts a critical reflection on whether our education and progress have truly benefited humanity or merely deepened our divisions and vulnerabilities.

Conclusion

In conclusion, human nature, marked by complexity and unpredictability, has historically caused widespread problems and suffering. Unlike the unity and harmony observed in animal, bird, and marine species, human actions have led to division, oppression, and environmental destruction. Despite the efforts of global organizations like the United Nations and technological advancements, humanity remains plagued by conflict and inequality.

This stark contrast to the peaceful coexistence of other species highlights the need for deep reflection and change. The path taken by humans emphasizes the urgency of addressing self-inflicted crises and re-evaluating our progress and education to foster a more united and sustainable future.

Dilema of Democracy & Political Leadership Crisis in Pakistan

Dilemma of Democracy & Political Leadership Crisis in Pakistan Overview Since mid 20th century,  Democracy is being considered the most accomplished process and a form of government where only people’s representatives have the right and authority to run the affairs of the state including forming certain constitutional rules and regulations.  Through democracy, people choose their representatives following a well-defined system of voting. The elected representatives then govern the affairs of the state on behalf of their people for a certain period of time (usually 4 to 5 years).  These representatives actually ensure the authority and rule of law for their people in the larger interests of any nation, state, or country. On the other hand, they are also held accountable and responsible for their actions and exercising of the powers within certain limitations as defined in the constitution or legislated through parliament.  Although Pakistan is a pure democratic...

Quantitative Reasoning: Statistics and its Relevance in the Context of BS English/Education Course

Introduction to Quantitative Reasoning Course   Quantitative Reasoning (QR) is an ability and an academic skill to use mathematical concepts and procedures. QR often involves interpretation of empirical and numerical data, identification of patterns, flow charts, geometrical shapes, and diagrams for identifying real life problems including offering viable solutions.  QR requires logical reasoning and critical thinking to analyse the real life issues and making informed decisions. Quantitative Reasoning Statistical Basics

Measures of Central Tendency Measures of central tendency are the specific statistical values which describe the typical values or central position of a dataset. The three most common single statistical values include Mean, Median and Mode.  Arithmetic Mean : Average of all values (sum divided by count). Geometric Mean : nth root of the product of values (used for growth rates). Harmonic Mean : The Reciprocal of the average of reciprocals (used for rates like speed). Median : Middle value when data is ordered. Quartiles : Values dividing data into four equal parts (Q1=25th, Q2=50th=median, Q3=75th percentile). Mode : Most frequent value. Measures of Dispersion Range : Difference between maximum and minimum values. Quartile Deviation : Half the interquartile range (Q3 - Q1)/2. Mean Deviation : Average absolute deviation from the mean. Variance : Average squared deviation from the mean. Standard Deviation : Square root of variance (spread in original units). Coefficient of Varia...

AFGHANISTAN CRISES: WHERE DOES PAKISTAN STAND?

Afghanistan Crises and Pakistan  Background According to history, Afghanistan has remained a war zone and a plan to invade central and south Asia for a long time. All of the invaders' troops entered South Asia through Afghanistan, from the Aryans to the Mughals. Afghanistan was the target of two major invasions in recent history. The former Soviet Union (USSR) launched its first invasion in December 1979, which lasted until 1989 and culminated in the dissolution of the Soviet Union into a number of distinct states. However, a significant portion of the formal USSR's territory, now known as the Russian Federation, is still there. As a result of the so-called September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York, the United States of America (USA) and its NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) allies, including Great Britain, launched the second invasion in 2001. Al-Qaeda's leader, Usama Bin Ladin, was allegedly blamed for the 9/11 attacks and claims that Al-Qa...

On the other hand, many students believe that the purpose of social media use is just for entertainment and informal interaction with digital friend...

BOOKS ARE THE BEST OF ALL THE FRIENDS!

Books are the Best of all the Friends  Overview: Francis Bacon rightly said that “some books are tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested”. In his quote, Bacon emphasized that there are very few books only to be read out as wholly because they draw our attention with diligence and develop curiosity as we go on reading them further and further. Actually, books are the food for our brains and thoughts. They provide us knowledge, and deep information and develop creativity along with critical thinking skills.  Books lead us towards a world of fantasy and imagination and pose various logical and rational questions and intend to seek our reflection. According to Charles W. Eliot, “books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers”. Books are best friends and they are always ready to talk to us and share their information and experiences with us. Books are mi...
