WHY PAKISTAN IS STILL A STRUGGLING STATE?

Pakistan is a Struggling State

Rationale

Pakistan is a country with over 243 million population and 97% of its total population are Muslims. However, this 97% Muslim population is being deceived by the so-called motto of nationalism, religious extremism, culture, civilization, and ethnicism. This is why today Pakistan stands quite low on the list of justice, honesty, freedom of expression, and right to living.

In simple words, Pakistan is a paradise for a certain group of corrupt but powerful people who have constantly been looting the resources of the country including abrogating laws, violating rules and regulations, and depriving the people of Pakistan of their fundamental rights as a nation. Similarly, the common citizens of Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Balouchistan, AJK, GB, and FATA are being emotionally blackmailed.

Problem Statement

Why Pakistan is still a struggling or a failed state even after 75 years? is a very disturbing and hurting question that rises in the minds of the helpless people of Pakistan.
Additionally, this question hurts a lot when we realize that Allah the Almighty has bestowed Pakistan with unlimited blessings in terms of all four key seasons, agricultural lands, plains, mountains, deserts, rivers, Arabian sea, minerals, and brave but innocent people.

The answer to this question (why Pakistan is still a struggling state?) is not as simple as we understand. Instead, it has very deep and strong roots that lie within the corruption of the Sicilian mafia.

Similarly, this corrupt Sicilian mafia has many faces and shapes as they live within us, make us emotionally blackmailed, and play with our sentiments just to get their vested interests. Therefore, we need to identify them first and then hold them accountable so that Pakistan can prosper and move forward like other countries of the world.

Background

When we look back on the past history of Pakistan and try to find the real problems we come to know some very bitter truths and realities that we don't want to believe in. However, the reality is after all the reality even if we are not ready to accept it and believe in it. And the reality is that politicians, bureaucrats, judges, generals, religious scholars, journalists, and businessmen to feudal lords are all corrupt and guilty.

This is why when we criticize them, hold them accountable, and talk about their massive corruption and misuse of the power they hid behind the so-called ideologies and phenomena. As a result, Pakistan gets weaker and moves backward instead of moving forward. For instance, if we held accountable some corrupt generals (military dictators) then the army as an institution is in danger.

Similarly, if we held accountable some of the corrupt judges then the judiciary as an institution is in danger. Additionally, we often hear that freedom of expression is in danger, Islam is in danger, bureaucracy is in danger, business is in danger, and ultimately Pakistan is in danger. However, we never hear that corruption is in danger, misuse of authority, and power is in danger.

Introduction

It is regrettable for the people of Pakistan that corrupt politicians, judges, generals, bureaucrats, criminals, and Sicilian mafia have never been held accountable and thus convicted. This is why these black sheep individuals have been looting Pakistan with both hands for ages and as a result of it today Pakistan is indebted (PKR 63 trillion) to IMF, the World Bank, ADB, China, Saudi Arabia, and other countries of the world.

Surprisingly, Pakistani politicians, generals, judges, bureaucrats, and business tycoons have properties and assets outside of Pakistan. Today, we find that not only politicians but retired judges, generals, bureaucrats, and media personnel are settled outside of the country. This shows that these key position holders aren't sincere with Pakistan rather they just safeguard their personal interests.

A true and sincere Pakistani would never ever leave his country instead, he would rather like to live the rest of his life in his motherland. however, those overseas Pakistani who live in different parts of the world just to earn a living for their families living in Pakistan are indeed doing exceptional work as they are constantly sending wealth back to Pakistan.

Why Pakistan is Still a Struggling State?

Pakistan's failure as a state is obviously weak democracy, massive corruption, dictatorship, religious extremism, feudalism, incapable judiciary, and low-quality education. According to World Bank, 93% population of Pakistan earns less than $10 a day. This means that 226 million Pakistanis earn less than PKR 60000/= a month. Similarly, today more than 127 million (52.3%) Pakistanis out of 243 million live below the poverty line.

On the other hand, today Pakistan is the 2nd most expensive country in Asia to live in. Not only that but as of December 2022, the inflation rate in Pakistan stands at a record-high rate of 28.6%. It is pertinent to mention here that unlike Sudan and Somalia Pakistan is basically an agricultural country that contributes around 19.8% of its GDP. Similarly, around 44.5% of Pakistan's employment depends on agriculture.

Comparably, no one out of the politicians, dictatorship, military establishment, judiciary, parliament, and bureaucracy takes responsibility as far as the failure of Pakistan as a state is concerned. We live in the 21st century where the world is changing at a very rapid pace. In the post-COVID-19 digital world, the quality of education in Pakistan is very low when it is compared to the rest of the world.

As of 2022, the literacy rate in Pakistan stands at around 58-59%. This means that around 98-99 million population in Pakistan is illiterate which is a massive and shocking number for Pakistan as a country. More shocking is that the quality of education in Pakistan is very poor as Pakistan only spends 1.8% of its total GDP on education.

World Bank, US, EU, ADB, and UN are the donor agencies for quality education in Pakistan but unfortunately, our bureaucracy and politicians do massive corruption even in charity and donations given by these above-mentioned donor agencies and countries.

Military Establishment's Role in Making Pakistan a Failed State

The military establishment has not only been supporting dictatorship but also paved the way for martial law in the history of Pakistan. Similarly, the military establishment has been weakening the roots of democracy in Pakistan including abrogating the constitution. Not only that but Pakistan's military establishment is the only military establishment in the world that does private business in Pakistan.

Today, we see that the military has a huge business empire in the country which is clearly a violation of the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. On the other hand, retired military generals are not only billionaires but own expensive properties in different parts of the world which is very much shocking for the common, poor, and miserable people of Pakistan.

On the contrary, all these corrupt general mafias are untouchable and above the law. When they are held accountable then they play with the sentiments of the nation by falsely claiming that the army as an institution is in danger.
However, this doesn't mean that all military generals are corrupt. Rather, the majority of them are living inside Pakistan as common Pakistani and they never claim themselves above the law.

Politicians' Role in Making Pakistan a Failed State

Politicians in Pakistan are the champions of corruption in the world. They not only create new ways of doing massive corruption but also act as land grabbers and Sicilian mafia. Similarly, politicians make such laws that support and suit them.

Politicians have nothing to do with the people of Pakistan. They are just busy controlling institutions and making them powerless. These politicians support feudalism which helps them control the masses including creating ethnic, religious, political, social, cultural, and linguistic rifts among common people.

Similarly, politicians first weaken various institutions and then privatize them through their front-men business personalities who protect and preserve the vested interests of these politicians. All the privatized institutions start earning once they are privatized, however, as a state institutions they were doing huge losses.

Judiciary's Role in Making Pakistan a Failed State

In the judiciary, Pakistan globally stands at 124th position out of 139 countries in the world in 2022. This reflects the judiciary's poor performance including maintaining rule of law in the country. The weak and corrupt judicial system in Pakistan has heavily cost the fate of the nation this is why corruption is no more a crime in Pakistan. This is why today Pakistan stands at 164th position in honesty among 206 countries of the world.

A common Pakistani knows that the current judicial system of Pakistan has nothing to offer to them. Rather its only aim and objective are to support corrupt politicians and military generals including providing them backup support and removing any hurdles that might come their way. This is why the corrupt Sicilian mafia is ruling the country today instead of behind the bars.

Religious Parties' Role in Making Pakistan a Failed State

All the religious parties not only spread religious extremism but also spread hatred and enmity among the common people of Pakistan. In the name of religion, they play with the sentiments and feelings of the Pakistani nation and thus enjoy luxurious and lustrious life for ages.

Islam is the Deen of equality, peace, harmony, justice, brotherhood, tolerance, and honesty but unfortunately, all these codes of Islam are missing among the so-called religious parties.

This is why today the Pakistani nation is divided in the name of religion, politics, ethnicity, culture, region, language, and caste & creed. In fact, religious intolerance is quite common that has been creating unlimited problems for Pakistan as a country in the world.

Due to illiteracy and ignorance, the common people of Pakistan don't know much about Islam and hence they get easily trapped by these so-called religious parties.

Bureaucracy's Role in Making Pakistan a Failed State

Bureaucracy in Pakistan plays a mediator role for corrupt politicians and military doctors. They safeguard their vested interests and prioritize their personal wishes and will over the national interests of Pakistan as a state. This is why today we find unlimited Blacksheep in the bureaucratic setup of Pakistan.

On the other hand, it is the bureaucracy that makes corruption possible for corrupt politicians and military generals. Instead of serving the nation and safeguarding the fundamental rights of the common people of Pakistan, bureaucracy is busy weakening the roots of Pakistan. This is why merit is just a dream for the youth of Pakistan. In fact, FPSC & PPSCs have completely failed to produce result-oriented and qualified bureaucrats for Pakistan.

Media's Role in Making Pakistan a Failed State

Instead of playing the role of watchdog, the media protects the vested interests of the corrupt politicians and military generals who have been heavily damaging the country. The media sets certain trends and promotes phenomena of the corrupt and powerful elite class of Pakistan. Similarly, poverty, inflation, low-quality education, corruption, lawlessness, lack of health facilities, and unemployment are no more issues for media in Pakistan.

Additionally, the media has become a party instead of playing a neutral role. This is why you will hardly see any programs that may promote nationalism, merit, honesty, education, public service, and a noble cause. It is, therefore, very much unfortunate that the media has also supported corrupt politicians, military generals, judges, business tycoons, lard grabbers, feudal lords, and Sicilian mafia instead of protecting the fundamental rights of a common Pakistani.

Conclusion

The Pakistani nation needs a Chinese and Iranian type of revolution to get rid of this corrupt Sicilian mafia once and for all. Until and unless the fate of this country is not going to change.

Similarly, we will remain a failed and struggling state until and unless we come up front and lead the country from the front by promoting real democracy including keeping all the institutions at their limit and holding accountable all the key and powerful position holders for their abrogation of the law as and when required.

Last but not the least, we need to change our destiny before it's too late. Allah the Almighty has clearly stated in the Glorious Qur'an that He (Allah) doesn't change the destiny of a nation that is ready to change its destiny but rather waiting for someone to change its destiny.

It is the fundamental right of the people of Pakistan to live a peaceful, respectable, happy, and prosperous life like other nations of the world.
