Descriptive Statistics: Variability & Synthesis Descriptive statistics in the context of Quantitative Research (Quantitative Reasoning) not only summarise central tendency (mean, median, mode) but also measure variability , the degree to which data values spread out or cluster together. Understanding variability is essential for interpreting research findings, comparing groups, and synthesising quantitative results.
